Sain Arden

Sain Arden is a recording, mixing and sound design project, originated from a symphonic rock / metal band and influenced by classical and Celtic music. Harmoniously combining traditional and progressive sounds, Sain Arden accents the beauty of each individual instrument.

Sain Arden was founded by Alexey Kononenko in 2008. Various Symphonic Metal bands at the time triggered the idea, although the project was originally intended as a studio recording only. The structure of the first album was finalized in 2009, proceeding further with recording Laura Kelsey (vocal), Ruthie Lipshulch (vocal), Kelly Stodola (drums), Tony Kerr (bass), Finn Maniche and Clara Shandler (cello), Alyssa Stevenson (flute), Cameron Wilson (violin), John Dean (piano), Alys Howe (harp) and a string quartet (Christine Lin - violin, Daejin Kim - violin, John Kastelic - viola, Clara Shandler - cello). Named after one if its compositions (A Tear From The Conquered Realm), the album was officially released in February 2014. In the same year Sain Arden entered The Western Canadian Music Awards, and was nominated in the category Metal/Hard Music Recording of the Year.

New material had been developed, and a few live shows played with Hedy-Marie (Lead Vocal), Rolf Popp (Drums), Alexey Kononenko (Guitars), and Kevin Armstrong (Bass/Guitars). The band continued to perform until 2017. Currently, Sain Arden continues as a recording, mixing and sound design project.
